ABOUT US

Welcome to the Sweet Saplings Community! This not-for-profit initiative was founded by Shanuk Karunatilaka, a 13-year-old living in Massachusetts and his 9-year-old sister, Nikelal, in 2021. Their goal is simple - to help children in need. Whether it's teaching English to children in Sri Lanka, participating in toy drives, raising funds for school supplies, or helping physically and/or emotionally challenged kids' well-being, Shanuk and Nikelal aim to do what they can with their family and community to help children's lives get better, for even one day.

Sweet Saplings Community believes that caring hearts will help nourish the minds of others and thereby enrich their lives and the lives of those around them.
